A man from Chicago spent 25 years of his life in prison for rape. He was exonerated because the DNA evidence showed he couldn’t have committed the attack. Judge Cannon cleared Jerry Miller of all charges. In 1981 he was found guilt of rape, robbery, kidnapping, and aggravated battery. He testified he was at home watching TV when the attack happened.

A New York group called the Innocence Project works to free wrongly convicted inmates. The persuaded prosecutors to test his DNA from the woman’s clothing. The results concluded Miller could not be the rapist.

It is sad when a innocent person is convicted of a crime they didn’t commit then spends half their life in prison. Thankfully this time an innocent was saved.
