Children deaths due to hot cars

If a parent leaves a child in an extremely hot car and the child dies the sentences vary from case to case. Since 1990 the amount of children that die due to heat exhaustion has extremely increased. Over the past 10 years around 340 children per year die because of being left in a hot car. Mothers are punished much more harshly than that of fathers. While day care workers or paid baby sitters are more likely to face jail time then parents.
