Some people find running or walking on a treadmill can be hard on the knees. If you have bad knees it probably could be harmful for them. There are other machines that one can use that are a lot easier on the body but just as helpful. More people like using exercise bikes instead of treadmills. The bike is easy on the body but gives the same results as other cardio work out machines.
